This service exceeded my expectations in every way. I'm an artist and wanted to incorporate old family photos into a mixed-media project for a gallery show. I needed high-resolution scans that could be blown up large without losing quality. The 1200 DPI scans were perfect - I was able to print some photos at 16x20 and they looked fantastic. I sent in a collection of about 150 photos, including some really fragile vintage prints and some old Polaroids. They handled everything with obvious care - nothing came back damaged. I had restoration done on about 30 photos, mostly to remove yellowing and fix some physical damage. The restoration work was sensitive and appropriate - they enhanced the photos without making them look overly digital or fake. Some services over-process vintage photos and make them look weird, but this was not the case here. The restored images retained their character. I also ordered some custom photo products to give as gifts - made coasters with old family photos for my parents and they absolutely loved them. The product quality was much better than I expected - substantial weight, good printing, protective coating. The turnaround time was about 3 weeks, which was reasonable given the volume. How do I know how many photos I have?

A rough rule of thumb is to stack your photos together and measure the height. One inch equals approximately 100 photos. Of course, this is just an average estimate and is affected by the thickness of your photo paper.

How will you ensure my photos are kept safe during the entire process?

We work as fast as we scan. Sometimes, we can able to return your media back to you before 6 weeks. We believe that slow and steady wins the trace. This is why we only scan each photo individually by hand, instead of using more automated processes. This ensure the highest resolution and fidelity of your memories. Digitizing decades’ worth of memories is a large undertaking, and we don’t think this is something you’d want to rush and then regret - or worse, have to redo in the future.

How long does it take?

We cannot provide a guaranteed time frame. Our aim is to have everything physically returned to you in approximately 6 to 8 weeks after you sending them out. This includes both digitization and shipping times. However, occasionally, it may take longer than this to complete everything. Likewise, depending on the circumstances, it may also be faster.

In any case, even before you get your physical media back, you will be able to view and download your photos on our cloud service.
